Student Helps Program

SMI strongly believes in education. Often primary and secondary education in undeveloped countries is not available to many capable young people, and without an education, their futures look bleak. Schools may be available, but not affordable.
This SMI project has developed into a complete assistance program, designed specifically to help children and youth stay in school. We feel it is important to work alongside the families to help them in their responsibility to provide education for their children. Therefore, SMI subsidizes the educational costs of primary and secondary education for needy families, but we do not provide full scholarships. This program offers financial help in the following areas:
  • School Fees
  • School Textbooks and Supplies
  • School Uniforms
  • School Transport
This program is not simply seen as a program. It is very much a ministry for SMI. We are able to offer care and guidance to our participating students and families, meeting with them at least quarterly. The impact on young lives has been tremendous.
