The powerhouse behind any God-led ministry is prayer – persevering and trusting prayer. This ministry would dissolve without this cornerstone. We trust in the sovereignty and providence of God and know that our labors are not in vain with God at the helm.
Sequoia Ministries' greatest need - first and foremost - is prayer.
SMI understands that prayer is coming to God and recognizing his power, wisdom, and presence. To see God work and move among us in truth and power, we must begin with prayer. We must seek God’s guidance in every decision and at every turn. Preacher and evangelist D. L. Moody once said, "Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure."
We know God is ready and able to provide the needs of this ministry. We also know that prayer has the promise of supply, and that God will answer us according to his goodness, graciousness and timing.
Philippians 4:6 says: ... in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Please undergird the SMI staff and many volunteers as they labor to glorify God and follow His leading in helping others. All the labor, funding and partnerships of this ministry depend on God’s leading. And because so many people are involved, the prayer needs are enormous. We therefore ask each prayer supporter of ours, to pray from their own sense of need and urgency as they learn more about the work of SMI. Our Project Description Pages and Prayer Focus Page may serve as a guide for the current thanksgivings and prayer requests of this ministry. Thank you for praying.
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father... Colossians 1:10-12 NIV
